He did some electrical work for us after a branch fell and took out our power, the job consisted of replacing the riser wire coming off the meter, and encasing the wires above and below the dual meters in new conduit. The total cost $1,250.

Despite the above Mr. Cain did offer us a "Customer Courtesy Refund" of 1/2 the cost of what the new contractor charged us for the repair work...an honorable thing to do but it's been 6 months now and no refund. He gave us his word week after week when I was calling him "I'll forward you a payment next week"...I quit asking about it over a month ago now and likely will never see it.

Recently we had an electrical emergency with ½ of the power in our house and called Duke Energy come out to investigate. Duke found a lug burnt completely off inside the old meter base, melted conduit, splices inside the meter housing and pointed out that none of this was done to code, was never was inspected, and the meter base should have been replaced when the original work was done. We were lucky that there was not a real fire.

I then contacted the city and also talked to David Cain about his work at my home.

Duke and the other contractor pointed out the burnt off lug, splices inside the meter base, melted conduit, and basically explained we had paid $1,250 for less than 10' of wire, 10' of conduit, and 4 splices. Duke, the new contractor, and the city inspector that actually came out to inspect the work the new contractor did could not believe what had been done and recommend that we contact the city about the work that had been done.

I was not present when the work was preformed by Mr. Cain, so I did not see was had been done until Duke and the another contractor we hired to fix it pointed it all out.

Based on our initial dealings with David Cain and the report we got from Duke. We decided we did not want him back at our house, so we hired another contractor do the repair work.
